India vs WI 5th T20I: WI Won by 8 Wickets to Snatch the Series from the Men in Blue

Suryakumar Yadav led India's charge with the bat, smashing a 38-ball 50 in the fifth T20I against West Indies. He along with Hardik Pandya guided India to 121/4 in 15.5 overs before rain interrupted the show. Soon after the rain interval Romario Shepherd got rid of Pandya for 14(18). Suryakumar was dismissed for 61(45) as India reached 161/8 in 19.4 overs before rain forced another stoppage. Earlier, Akeal Hosein injected a double blow after India won the toss and opted to bat. Hosein dismissed both Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill for single-digit scores. Suryakumar and Tilak Varma then added 49 runs for the third wicket, before Roston Chase packed Varma for 27(18). Shepherd packed Sanju Samson for 13(9).

India has fielded the same playing XI, while West Indies made a couple of changes, with Chase and Alzarri Joseph coming in for Obed McCoy and Odean Smith. After 20 overs, India set a target of 166 for the host. In the run chase, WI looked confident right from the starting as they maintained the run rate over 10. Today, Windies have paid it forward. King and Pooran nearly put an end to the hunt. I hope than in to add the finishing touches. King, though, stayed to the very finish and scored an amazing 85. He challenged Chahal, who received four sixes from him. He intelligently played out Kuldeep, which meant that even after scoring only 165, India was constantly under pressure.

The defense would greatly disappoint India. They certainly ought to have scored more. But nobody else seemed to be in a position to take a wicket but Kuldeep. Hardik had to change his plans as a result of Pooran being promoted to number 3, but none of them were successful because the Southpaw was off to a fast start. India played the entire game with their backs to the wall. Prior to it, India struggled to 165 after a skillful SKY knock. In the end, it didn't look well enough and never did. Windies won the series 3-2 against India. Stay tuned with us for cricket updates, cricket Samachar, and more!
